  • Italiano

Meike is a company founded in 2005 in Hong Kong that produces professional photographic equipment for high-tech companies.

In particular, it deals with producing video lenses for APSC and Full Frame cameras.

Cine Meike lenses are characterized by a sturdy metal construction, with knurled and very fluid rings, and with practically no focus breathing.

Other interesting details of these lenses are: the very wide focus ring that reaches up to 330 degrees and the low dispersion glasses with which they are made that make the images taken even more qualitative.

As for the models for APS-C we find different focal lengths available with different mounts.

Meike APS-C lenses are fixed optics starting from 8mm f / 3.5 up to 85mm f / 2.2 depending on the model, you can find them with Sony, Fuji and Micro 4/3 attachment.

They are products made for use with APS-C and therefore need the “super 35” function to be used with full-frame cameras, this involves a multiplication factor of the focal length depending on the camera used. These models are also totally manual and therefore require the use of the function that allows shooting without the lens.

But the Meike products do not end there.

In fact, there are also specific cine lenses for Full Frame cameras

The first model created is the 50mm T/2.1 available with Sony E, Nikon Z, Panasonic Leica L, Canon RF, Canon EF, PL mount. It is part of the new FF-Prime Cine series, and is an extremely resistant and light product thanks to the aluminum composition.

Meike lenses are therefore versatile products, designed for cine video use but which can also be appreciated in photography.

An interesting use is in fact that in street photography thanks to the sharpness and the extremely pleasant bokeh.
